Abstract
This project presents a technique used image processing techniques for fast and accurate detection of plant diseases. The steps followed by these researchers in detection of leaf spot diseases are: image acquisition, image preprocessing, disease spot segmentation, feature extraction and disease classification. The accuracy of result depends on method used for disease spot detection. The main obstacle in disease spot detection is noise, which is introduced by camera flash, change in illumination, noisy background and presence of vein in the plant leaf. Therefore a method which wipes out the noise and provides better disease spot segmentation is needed.
