Abstract
This paper deals study of different simple and reliable distrometer, which measures a drop size distribution of raindrops. Measurement the droplet fall velocity between two optical barriers. It is important to study the hydrometeors to find out the interaction of signal in radio communication. The main functions of hydrometers are to find out raindrops and parameters like fog droplets. It is also used to find out fall velocity of rain, size of raindrops distribution and the diameter of drops also. There are many principals are used to measure the raindrops parameters. Most of them are used the optical components like Laser as a source and the photodiodes are used as a receiver. Diameter is then computed using the Gunn-Kinzer model. Examples of measured drops was discussed using case study.
