PROCESS IMPROVEMENT BY APPLICATION OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNIQUE IN ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY

Abstract
In current era of competitive world all company are works on principle of short lead times, low-cost automation technquie and give better service customer. To improve effiency, productivity, and customer responsiveness cycle time must be considered as viable option .all companies increase their productivity by reducing lead time and by eliminating waste i.e.non value added activity for which customer do not pay any cost. This paper addresses the implementation of lean technique in electronic industry, lean technique like value stream mapping for elimination of waste, identifying non value added activities. From existing process flow we map the current state map and identify bottleneck activities, inventory between two consecutive processes. Depend on current state map major issue are solved by root cause analysis, brain storming secession. This paper also include the implementation of kanban for reducing fluctuations in production, reduce inventory, optimized storage area. The main aim of kanban system is supply right product, in right quqntity, at right place, at right time. This paper shows that implementation of kanban improves manufacturing process as well as achieving just in time practice. The result of this research paper is reduce non value added days (inventory) from 7.83 days to 4 days. The improvements in inventory are 43% and material movement improvement is reducing from 16M to 5M.
