IMPLEMENTATION OF UWB MICRO-STRIP ANTENNA WITH CIRCULAR PATCH AND WINGS FOR WEARABLE APPLICATIONS

Abstract
This paper represents the implementation of Ultra Wideband (UWB) micro-strip antenna with circular patch and stepped wings. This implementation is an improvement over the previous research paper. This paper contains the effect of circular patch & stepped wings on the bandwidth as well as VSWR & S11 parameter. Hence it represents frequency domain behavior of the antenna & improvement in the antenna bandwidth which is useful for UWB applications. Here, Roger 5880 having dielectric constant, ?r = 2.2 is used as substrate. The structure is designed to work in the UWB range from 2 to 12GHz. These all structures are designed and simulated using Ansys HFSS software. The simulated results show that, there is improvement of various parameters. Design3 with suggested modifications shows improvement in return loss, VSWR, gain, bandwidth at 7.6GHz. Improvement in Bandwidth is about 10GHz.
