Abstract
India's extension system has experienced major structural, organizational, managerial, and institutional changes since the late 1990s to realize agricultural potential and to increase agricultural yields. The ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) reform currently existing in agricultural extension system in India is an acting platform for bringing convergence between extension and research units to deliver the extension services to the penurious farmers. This paper focused to show the process flow of convergence activity of ATMA in delivering extension services. A sample size of 120 extension functionaries under ATMA was selected as respondents. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and personal interview were adopted in collecting required data. Simple percentage analysis was carried out to analyse the data. The major finding of the study was during strategic scanning and planning stages the convergence was maximum whereas, convergence was least witnessed during monitoring and evaluation. This study may support researchers and policymakers in developing effective strategies for monitoring and evaluation of extension reforms for achieving better convergence.
