Controlling position of Dish by DC motor using IR remote

Abstract
This is a system which helps in the adjustment in the position of dish antenna to improve the reception of the signal received by the dish antenna on the television. The biggest objective of the dish antenna is signal reception from various satellites and broadcasting sources .One needs to adjust the dish manually in order to get the accurate angle of position of the dish antenna. The basic hurdle faced by a layman or even the service person is to adjust the dish manually and this paper contributes in resolving this hurdle. The position of the dish is aligned using two stepper motor which works according to the control information of the IR remote .In order to reduce the speed, stepper motors are used that are interfaced to the AT89C51 microcontroller and are driven by the motor driver IC L293D. The azimuthal angle and the elevation angle of the dish antenna is displayed on the LCD with its direction .If the position of the dish antenna is disturbed the with the help of GSM SIM900A module a message will be send to the registered mobile number regarding the disturbance.
