Abstract
A series of phosphors CaAl3-x(PO4)3F2:Cex 3+ (0.1?x? 5) was synthesized using a facile combustion method using urea as a fuel and their structural ,morphological and photoluminescence properties were investigated. The phosphor could be excited by UV light of wavelength 264 nm and showed a broad blue emission with the wavelength ranging from 275-400 nm. The 5d levels corresponding to the 4f1?4f05d1 transition of Ce3+ ions were identified . In this work, we report the synthesis and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) ofCaAl3- x(PO4)3F2:Cex 3+(0.1? x? 5)phosphors have been reported. Our work shows that CaAl3- x(PO4)3F2:Cex 3+(0.1?x? 5)has a strong absorption peak at 264 nm and gives emissions at 321 nm.
